“One of the most blissfully beautiful

animated films ever made!”

Song of the Sea isn’t just pretty, it’s genuinely transporting!

Tomm Moore has followed up 2009’s The Secret of Kells with another heartfelt and gorgeously rendered work of 2D animation, its every blue-gray blotch of watercolor a defiant rejoinder to the rounded plastic sameness that dominates contemporary cartoons.”

My kids, ages 7 and 4, loved it right away, and we’ve rented it three times now. My 4-year old son keeps asking for Song of the Sea pajamas. Three weeks after the last viewing, he sings the songs while he’s brushing his teeth.

My sis and I loved this film! We had our youngest cousins watch it too. I loved the animation style as well, and the little quiet moments in the film that were simply heartfelt. And the Irish folklore was a new experience to me, so knowing about selkies and other myths were totally fascinating.
