ASIFA-East and The School of Visual Arts Animation Department will present the work of Perpetual Motion Pictures between 1970 and 1982 along with the artists who were there at the time.
What was Perpetual Motion Pictures, anyway? At its peak, it employed over 70 people to work on ads, programming, 5 Berenstain Bears holiday specials, and Strawberry Shortcake in Big Apple City.
Tom Warburton (Kids Next Door, Disney’s Fish Hooks) will be hosting the evening’s panel which will include Mordicai Gerstein (Director, Berenstain Bears holiday specials), Russell Calabrese (Animator and Animation Director), JJ Sedelmaier (Owner/Producer/Director, JJ Sedelmaier Productions), Thomas Schlamme (Director/Co-Creator, The West Wing, Studio 60, among others), and Candy Kugel (Director/Designer/Co-Owner, Buzzco Associates).
