Our friends at Women in Children’s Media have some very exciting news to share about their organization.  Read on for all the details from Sarah Wallendjack (CMA President (formerly WICM):

Big News! In order to better embrace and serve the growing children’s media community, WiCM is becoming the Children’s Media Association!   CMA will continue to provide members with exclusive events and networking opportunities, access to leaders in the field, behind-the-scenes knowledge and, through our new and expanded website (www.cmanyc.org), a wider array of resources and forums.

In October alone, we have 4 amazing events on the calendar.  Members will be learning to puppeteer with John Tartaglia, going behind the scenes with the producers of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, getting writing insights from the co-head writers of Curious George, and digging into online PBS property, Fizzy’s Lunch Lab with creator Dave Schlafman of cloudkid.

We are offering our VERY LAST membership discount ever before we introduce an initiation fee structure.  Annual Membership is $150, but with this code (CMACONNECT), new members can join for a 20% discount.  This offer is only valid through October 31st, so NOW is the time to join.  We also have a discounted student rate of $75.

By re-branding as Children’s Media Association, we are reaffirming our commitment to serve the children’s media community in as broad and comprehensive a way as possible. It is an exciting time to be a member!  Please help us spread the word and encourage friends to join!
