UPDATE: Cyber Monday Sale! Hey everyone – NY Women in Film and Television is having a panel discussion with leading women members of the animation community on Thursday Nov 29. They have cordially invited ASIFA-East members to attend this event and will have a Cyber Monday sale for FREE entry for you and a guest. Use the code ASIFACYBER when registering. The code lasts through Tuesday. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity!

New York Women in Film and Television cordially invites ASIFA-East members to their latest event, Women in Animation: The Business of Creativity.  The panel discussion will include Deena Beck, Assistant Animator at Titmouse, Ginger Brown, Vice President of Children’s Media at Curious Pictures, Candy Kugel, co-founder of Buzzco Associates, Bernadine Santistevan, Writer, Producer and Director of Wolf Dog Tales, and Heather Shepherd, Artist, Modeler, and CG Designer.

They’ll share their experiences creating and distributing films, pitching stories and being on the receiving end of a pitch.

The forum will also cover the broader challenges for women in the industry and explore the models that better cultivate and draw on the talents of women as film artists, producers and executives.

The panelists will also discuss how gender equality in the media is the new social movement trending in animation. With limited female characters in film, how are the animated characters depicted and how does this influence young girls and boys?

After the session, stay and enjoy $5 Sangrias, courtesy of ImageNation.  ASIFA-East thanks NYWIFT for this exciting opportunity! All ASIFA members are receiving the discounted NYWIFT price for entry.  When you log in, it will give  you the option to choose which organization you belong to.  Choose ASIFA East.
