After School Special 2015: SVA’s Alumni Film & Animation Festival
Once again, SVA is holding their annual After School Special 2015: SVA’s Alumni Film & Animation Festival! ASIFA-East is honored to be part of the amazing organizations that are promotional partners of this event. There are a number of wonderful animation screenings and Q&As being held, so make sure you save the dates and don’t miss out! See below for all information:

Event hosted by: School of Visual Arts
Featuring some of School of Visual Arts’ most accomplished film, television, animation, and visual effects alumni, this multi-day festival will include screenings, premieres of new work, and behind-the-scenes looks at cinema & television hits and classics, and all events will feature special Q&As with industry insiders. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVPs via the Eventbrite pages are appreciated, but not necessary. Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening.
All events are free and open to the public and take place at SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street, New York, NY 10011.

Friday 9/18/15
8:00PM A Tribute to Bill Plympton. Join renowned animator Bill Plympton (1969 Cartooning) for a special screening of his Academy Award-nominated short Your Face (1987), the NYC premiere of his new short film The Loneliest Stoplight (2015), his award-winning feature film Cheatin’ (2013), and sneak previews of his upcoming films Hitler’s Folly and Revengeance. Preceded by the NYC premiere of the short film Dime Crimes #34, by director Ed Hellman (MPS 2013 Live Action Short Film) and alumni from the MPS Live Action Short Film & BFA Cartooning departments. Saturday 9/19/15
4:30PM Disney•Pixar’s Monsters University (2013). Bring the whole family and join past and present Pixar artists and animators Ye Won Cho (MFA 2002 Computer Art), Andrew Dayton (BFA 1998 Computer Art), Christian Haniszewski (BFA 2009 Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects), Nancy Kato (MFA 1991 Computer Art), and Maria Lee (BFA 1988 Media Arts) as they present the hit film on the big screen in 3D. 8:00PM Pacific Rim (2013). Join visual effects supervisor John H. Han (BFA 2003 Computer Art) for a screening and inside look at the monster hit film. Preceded by the short film Brink (2011), featuring visual effects by Luke DiTommaso (BFA 2001 Computer Art) and SVA BFA Computer Art alumni-artists from VFX studio The Molecule. 2:00PM FOX’s Family Guy & Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (2014). Join Kara Vallow (BFA 1985 Media Arts), executive producer of two of Seth MacFarlane’s hit shows, for a special presentation of two recent episodes as you’ve never seen them before — on the big screen! Don’t worry, you’ll make it home in time for FOX’s Sunday Animation Domination lineup. Preceded by The Dirty Birdy Redux (2014) by Academy Award-nominated animator John Dilworth (BFA 1985 Animation).
