Hi there ASIFA-East Members!

For the past two months, your ASIFA-East Board has been working hard, brainstorming and bouncing ideas back and forth to come up with ideas for a new year of ASIFA-East.

Below is a very short list of what’s going on now and in the months to come. But first, we want your feedback!  Please take a second to fill out our Events Survey.  It will take you less than a minute and adding your email address is optional:

Now, behold, the fruits of your suggestions and our labours:

1.  ASIFA-East Open Screening Series!
Beginning: Tuesday, November 15th @7:00 pm at Ace & Son, 134 W. 26th Street, #603
The goal is for this to become a regular event to showcase and critique works in progress. Bring recent works, works-in-progress, and animation tests (totaling no more than 5 minutes) on DVD and an open mind for constructive comments by your peers!
You must RSVP for this to RSVP@aceandson.com by November 11th
Edible goodies will be provided!

2.  ASIFA-East Used Animation Art Auction!
In December, this traditionally biennial event becomes ANNUAL! Click here for former auctioneer Tom Warburton‘s blog post on the history of the auction.  This year’s auction will come just in time for the holidays on Tuesday, December 20th.  Keep an eye on the blog for *teasers* and more information!

3.  ASIFA-East Social & Networking Events!
First priority for our organizing committees: Animation Pub Trivia Night, Drink & Draw, and Anijam!  As always, please send me your suggestions for other events!

4.  ASIFA-East Give-Aways!
Study up on your animation trivia!  At the beginning of each event, we’ll ask a trivia question or two and give out prizes!  Also, look out for a more formal thank you promo item that will be given to members who choose to attend the Jury Screenings.

4.  Social Networking!  We’re live and so should you be!

Make sure you’re “networking” with us!  Join our very active Facebook group, tweet with us about events and happenings, and follow us on the internet’s professional networking site:  linkedin!
