Hello all! This September, ASIFA-East will return from summer hiatus with two events in September. Please see the above flyer and the below information for more details! I hope you’ve all enjoyed your summer. Personally, I think it all flew by way too fast, but I’m looking forward to the fall, not only because ASIFA-East starts back up again and I get to see all your lovely faces, but also because the Ottawa International Animation Festival is in September. Stay tuned for festival reports from our blog team!

Our annual Open Screening Night
If you are screening your work, please arrive at 6:30 PM with a DVD (must be playable on any regular DVD player) of any animation you wish to screen. Student films, works-in-progress, reels, pencil tests, indie films, and commercial projects are all welcome. Please don’t bring anything longer than five minutes in length so we can make room to screen as many works as possible. The filmmaker must be in attendance or the clip will not be played.
SVA, 209 E. 23rd St., 3rd floor Amphitheatre
7 PM, Admission: FREE
I plan to bring a short I am working on to the Open Screening. 1.) The audio may not be finished by then, but this event is for finished and unfinished projects, and 2.) it’s only seconds over 5 minutes. I may bring a snippet of the first half, or something.
