SUMMARY:NYC ACM SIGGRAPH Bring Your Own Animation
DESCRIPTION:Start the New Year off by joining us for our first edition of Bring Your Own Animation of 2017! \nHere’s your chance to share what you’ve been working on with the rest of the NYC-area digital media community – and to check out what others have been doing. Come and meet other animators\, exchange tips and ideas\, maybe even find a future collaborator. We’ll be hooking up a Mac laptop to the flat-screen so bring your work on a DVD or USB and we’ll play it. (We will not swap out the computer to play from another computer so make sure you can transfer it to our machine.) \nWe’ll be meeting in the room all the way at the back of the venue. Beverages and food will be available for purchase. If you do not have ID to prove you are 21 or older\, you will not be allowed to purchase alcohol. College students between the ages of 18 and 20 are welcome to join us but anyone under the age of 21 that is found to be drinking will be asked to leave.

DESCRIPTION:“BREAKING NEWS! I’m going to re-open the Plympton School of Animation for a two-month intensive course\, starting in January. Starting on January 9\, 2017\, every Monday night from 6-8 pm\, I’ll hold lectures at my studio about every phase of making short animated films\, with drawing lessons and tips that I’ve learned from my 50-year career as an illustrator and filmmaker. \nThe curriculum will cover story ideas\, storyboarding\, character design\, humor\, the “Plympton Dogma”\, post-production\, festivals\, distribution and crowd-funding\, with guest lectures from my staff – so we’ll cover everything. \nCapacity is very limited – for more information\, please read the details and contact info posted on my blog (URL is below).
