Come and meet other animators\, exchange tips and ideas\, maybe even find a future collaborator. \nThis month we will be joined by special studio guests Titmouse (http://www.titmouse.net/)\, who will give us a look behind the scenes of some of their recent work\, and be on-hand to offer feedback on other presenters’ work. \nWe’ll be hooking up a laptop to the flat-screen so bring your work on a USB and we’ll play it. (We will not swap out the computer to play from another computer so make sure you can transfer it to our machine.) \nWe’ll be meeting in the room all the way at the back of the venue. Beverages and food will be available for purchase. If you do not have ID to prove you are 21 or older\, you will not be allowed to purchase alcohol. College students between the ages of 18 and 20 are welcome to join us but anyone under the age of 21 that is found to be drinking will be asked to leave.

The music is utterly singular\, played on an array of unique instruments — from the lute-like sintir that the Maâlem uses to call the tune\, to the metal qarqaba (castinets) with which the kouyos (chorus) keep time and pound out clattering\, hypnotic rhythms. DESCRIPTION:5 Second Animation Night — a Titmouse tradition\, a day when Titmouse animators create whatever animated goodies have been floating around in their minds all year. \nTitmouse began in Los Angeles as a T-shirt company in the year 2000\, created by School of Visual Arts alumni Chris & Shannon Prynoski. Titmouse\, now an animation studio\, has multiple studios in Hollywood\, NYC\, and Vancouver\, currently employing over 300 of the most talented artists\, writers\, directors\, editors\, and producers in the animation industry. Their work includes China\, IL; Metalocalypse; Motorcity; Randy Cunningham; Superjail!; The Venture Brothers; commercials; and short films. \nPrior to the screening\, from 6:00PM-7:30PM\, Titmouse will be showcasing their Smash Party VR game. Attendees will have a chance to experience Titmouse’s somewhat annual Smash Party VIRTUALLY! You’ll be destroying virtual things with your virtual weapon in a virtual cage. All without the dangers of real life…. If you can help it! \nTitmouse artists and animators will be in attendance at the event. \nA limited amount of tickets are available to the public\, so book early! \n \nTicket Information \nTickets are only available through Eventbrite and will not be on sale at the box office in advance of the event. They must be purchased through this website or via the Eventbrite app. \nDoors will open at approximately 6:00PM for the virtual reality experience. DESCRIPTION:It’s time to sit back and relax for another hefty batch of 16mm (no digital!) animated cartoons from the 1910s to the 1940s\, straight from the Stathes Archives to the silver screen at Shoestring Press… \n \nThroughout animation history\, it was immensely popular to adapt (and spoof!) classic fairytales and fables from antiquity…sometimes giving them a ‘modern’ spin. This was especially true in the era of theatrical shorts\, and we’re showcasing these whimsical animated versions of yesteryear to combat a dreary bit of February cabin fever. Mother Goose? Little Red Riding Hood? Cinderella? Snow White? Aladdin? Jack & the Beanstalk? We’ll have ’em\, and many others\, at TSCC #53.
