The Society of Illustrators is proud to announce a robust and distinguished programming schedule for the 2018 MoCCA Arts Festival\, taking place April 7-8. This year’s programming will take place at the beautiful Ink48 Hotel (653 11th Avenue at 48th street)\, steps away from our primary venue\, Metropolitan West at 639 West 46th Street.\n\n  \n\nOrganized by Best American Comics Series Editor Bill Kartalopoulos\, this year’s programming includes spotlight sessions with all of this year’s MoCCA Guests of Honor: New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast\, Argentine cartoonist Liniers\, MARCH co-creators Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell\, and Hellboy comics artist Mike Mignola.\n\n  \n\nFeatured guest Jaime Hernandez will also take the stage in a spotlight session\, alongside a pair of focused conversations among our distinguished international guests. Max de Radiguès and Anna Haifisch will discuss the international comics scene\, and Yvan Alagbé and Dominique Goblet will trace points of connection in their recent work.\n\n  \n\nFocused panel discussions will address topics including a conversation about comics\, community and career hosted by Nicole J. Georges with Jennifer Camper\, Kat Fajardo\, and Ariel Schrag\, as well as a discussion of political cartooning and current events hosted by Marymount Manhattan College professor Kent Worcester with artists Steve Brodner\, Mr. Fish\, Ann Telnaes\, and Eli Valley. Other panels will feature luminaries including Patrick McDonnell\, Françoise Mouly\, Gary Panter\, Mark Siegel\, Lauren Weinstein and more.\n\n  \n\nA programming schedule can be found online for Saturday\, April 7 and Sunday\, April 8\, or may be downloaded here. Each programming event will last one hour\, with a half hour break between programming events. Admission to programming is included with MoCCA Arts Festival admission. All seating is available on a first come-first served basis. Price of admission is $7 per day and will grant attendees access to the Fest including the Exhibitors Hall\, on-site Gallery space\, and programming. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Children under ten are free. DESCRIPTION: Presented by Desert Island and The Drawing Center\nOn the weekend of March 24-25\, Desert Island and The Drawing Center will present FUNHOUSE\, a new\, interactive book fair at which guests can make their own books in collaboration with resident cartoonists and illustration artists. FUNHOUSE guests will interact with resident artists to create unique pages for one-of-a-kind books to be assembled at the fair. The resident artists will also have their own publications available for purchase at General Store within the FUNHOUSE fair\, with games of chance\, author signings\, special activities\, and giveaways of artists’ books. A Sideshow of talks\, lectures\, and presentations will be organized by FORGE. art magazine’s Matthew James-Wilson. Additional spectacles\, like life-size interactive cut-outs and funhouse mirrors will provide wacky fun and photo-ops galore!FUNHOUSE artists include: Gabrielle Bell\, Lilli Carré\, Rob Corradetti\, Joanna Fields\, Laura Perez-Harris\, Abby Jame\, Jeff Ladouceur\, Sarah Lammer\, Gary Leib\, Richard McGuire\, Ben Passmore\, Oskars Pavlovskis\, Monica Ramos\, Jim Schleussler\, R.
